Mixing Mechanics: Should you switch to continuous mixing?

Many people have shown a strong interest in changing their powder mixing process from batch to continuous. In most cases, the reasons boil down to reducing costs. It’s true that continuous mixing can be more cost-effective than batch mixing, especially when you’re mixing large quantities, but there are several factors that you should look at before making a switch.

Continuous mixing is an automated process in which each of two or more volumetric feeders (generally one per ingredient or premix)continuously dispenses an ingredient at a specific recipe proportion to a single belt feeder or volumetric screw feeder that continuously feeds the group of ingredients into a mixer (such as a horizontal rotary drum or continuous ribbon or plow mixer).
