A pigment manufacturer installs two articulating seals on a ribbon blender to eliminate material leaks.

A Gulf Coast company that makes powder coatings for various painting applications recently had a problem with part of its processing line. The industrial ribbon blenders it uses to mix various pigments together have shaft seals that regularly failed and allowed pigment to leak from the blenders into the mixing room. Since this led to housekeeping and maintenance problems and created operator safety issues, the company needed to find a sure way to immediately eliminate the leaks.
