Continuous eductor system premixes slurries to precise concentrations
A minerals company selects a continuous eductor premixing system to produce a slurry for a customer’s application.
EP Minerals LLC, Reno, Nev., uses diatomaceous earth (DE) to make a wide range of products for such applications as industrial filtration, water treatment, waste remediation, paints and coatings, automotive, and many others. In 2010, one of the company’s customers needed a new system to make a DE-and-water slurry at a specified concentration for use in various paper product applications. When planning the project, Mark Salchli, EP Minerals senior project manager, worked with a Michigan-based dry bulk solids handling and processing equipment manufacturer to design a continuous inline slurry system.
