Tiny blender produces custom blends
A nutraceutical manufacturer installs a fluidizing paddle blender into a new processing line to blend small custom batches without cross-contamination.
Brady Enterprises Inc., East Weymouth, Mass., is a manufacturing and contract packing company specializing in food and nutraceutical applications. The company manufactures its own products, including dry powdered drink mixes and food seasonings, and co-manufactures other products with various large corporations. In 2005, the company decided to install a new processing line to produce custom blends of nutraceuticals for one of its customers. Because residual material between batches would cause contamination, the company needed to find a blender that could mix several free-flowing powder ingredients quickly and completely discharge them once blended.
