Enclosed belt conveyor makes major savings possible for magnesite producer
National Magnesia Chemicals gets better shipping rates and faster delivery when new material transfer procedure ends rail line's monopoly.
National Magnesia Chemicals [NMC], of Oakland, Calif., produces magnesite at its facility in Moss Landing, Calif. The plant extracts magnesia from seawater then uses a chemical process to convert the magnesia into several grades of magnesite. NMC uses some of the material to manufacture refractory bricks for basic industries; the remaining magnesite goes to customers all over North America, as well as Europe and Australia, for use in products such as animal feeds and fuel additives.
