Compagnie des Bauxites de Guinee [CBG] is a partnership that mines and processes bauxite, the raw material for making aluminum. The partnership's mine and processing plant are in the Boke region of Guinea in West Africa. CBG's partners are the Guinean government and Halco [Mining], a holding company that includes Alcoa, Alcan, Reynolds, and other major aluminum producers. The partnership began shipping bauxite in October 1973, and about 3,000 people now work at CBG.
