Insulator manufacturer keeps a low profile rather than raising the roof to collect dust
A ceramic insulator manufacturer installs low-profile cartridge dust collectors to avoid altering the plant roof to install a tall baghouse dust collector.
A.B. Chance, Parkersburg, W. Va., uses a proprietary process to manufacture ceramic insulators for high-tension wires. The insulator manufacturer blends approximately five types of dry, dusty raw materials and processes thousands of tons of material per year. Railcars and dry bulk trucks deliver bagged or bulk raw materials such as ball clays, feldspar, and flint to the plant. Front-end loaders or forklift trucks move the raw materials to storage in open bins or a warehouse, and belt conveyors move the raw materials to processing.
