The interrelationships of factors that affect dust collector efficiency
Cleaning systems, filter media, process gas streams, and dust characteristics all affect the efficiency of renewable media dust collectors. To reduce operating, energy, and maintenance costs, you must understand how these factors interact with each other. This article uses laboratory data and field observation to explore their interrelationships.
A considerable amount of technical literature focuses on the major factors that can affect the efficiency of renewable media dust collectors. These factors include: [1] the cleaning system, [2] the process gas stream, [3] the filter media, and [4] the physical characteristics of the dust. Unfortunately, little has been written on how or why these factors relate to each other.
