By replacing blinded filters with gradient density felted filtration media, a cement producer substantially increased the production efficiency of its separator and finish mill.

Throughout 1986, a midwestern cement producer was in a frustrating situation. It had installed a new high- efficiency separator and finish mill to boost its production rate. Instead, production had dropped as a result of differential pressures in excess of 12 inches in the plenum pulse dust collector venting the separator and mill.
