Cheese plant selects rotary packer for whey powder
A cheese plant in need of packing equipment for dairy use hat contains dust and requires mini mal worker involvement selects an automated six-head rotary bag packer and ancillary equipment for whey powder packing.
Davisco International's Jerome, Idaho, cheese plant receives tanker truckloads of milk, which is pumped to storage silos. Whey by-product from cheese production is dried and packed in nongusseted, open-top, multiwall bags with integral plastic liners. The bags, containing either 50 pounds or 25 kilograms, are palletized and stored for shipment. The whey is eventually used in various food products.
