Dolphin Packaging, Dorset, England, extrudes polyvinyl chloride [PVC] resins into sheets that are 0.2 to 1 millimeter thick. The company then sends the sheets through one of 40 vacuum molding machines to form them into semi-rigid packaging products. Dolphin's lightweight products fit into boxes to hold cookies, biscuits, chocolate, fruit, and other goods. The food-grade PVC sheets are also made into small containers, such as those used to hold yogurt.
