Mobile crusher rolls reduce material flow problem
Crusher rolls using large, internally operated pulleys move across a clogged coal grid, restoring material flow and cutting production downtime.
Trucks at a northwestern US coal processing operation dump run-of-mine coal through a 25-by-125-foot grid that prevents oversize pieces from overloading four primary crushers below. The grid's openings include 24-inch squares and 24-by-27-inch rectangles. Coal pieces smaller than the grid openings flow through to the crushers while larger pieces partially or totally clog the grid, eventually halting coal dumping and primary crushing.
