Bulk handling system replaces company's manual bag-handling method

The automatic weighing and conveying of limestone improves batching accuracy and reduces the cost of producing bolt resin.

Sandvik Rock Tools, Bristol, Va., a manufacturer of rock-cutting tools, also produces a bolt resin used to adhere roof bolts in underground mines. One of the primary ingredients of the resin is dry, powdered limestone, which flows freely with slight aeration and has a particle size of 60 percent below 200 mesh.
