Buffalo Soap, Buffalo, N. Y., manufactures dry and liquid laundry detergents. For dry detergents, the soap company receives three main ingredients -- sodium carbonate, sodium metasilicate, and sodium phosphate. Blower trucks deliver the materials and hook up to pneumatic conveying lines that lead to the plant's top floor and discharge into storage bins.
