Here’s how to improve indirect-contact dryer performance to either increase the dryer's production capacity or achieve a drier final product.

Indirect-contact dryers (also called conduction dryers) are available in many types that are designed to handle different forms of feeds, as you can see in Table I. However, all the dryers have at least one characteristic in common: a metal wall separates the dryer's heat source (a heating fluid) from the material to be dried.
