Redesigned dust collector access doors secure dust
A producer of specialty carbon black toners needed a dust collector that would safeguard the plant and environment from the extremely fine dust.
A company that supplies specialty toners for banking and other industries that require highly secure documents built a new production line in 2003. Part of the toner production process involves emptying new toner cartridges and refilling them with the specialty toner, a very fine, magnetic, carbon black powder. Operators would empty the used cartridges into open barrels, a potentially dusty operation that could result in dirty and hazardous conditions if not handled properly. This meant that the new line needed good dust collection equipment that could handle extremely fine particles and prevent them from entering the plant environment.
